Ten frames are a tool commonly used in Early education. They're used to teach the skills required to understand & recognise number patterns & relations, in an easy, tactile & organised way. Elle Collective's reversible tens frame has been thoughtfully designed to provide even more learning opportunities, and for generations!

Each beautiful, splinter-free & buttery soft frame has been lovingly handmade in the Ukraine, using high quality, ethically sourced Beech wood. Beech wood is a hard wood so it's stronger, heavier and more resistant to dents compared to other cheaper/soft woods such as pine.

Examples of How to Use:

Ball Side

Balls sold separately. Click here to purchase.

  • Subtraction eg. 10-7 yellow balls = 3 yellow balls
  • Addition/number bonds/friends of ten eg. 2 blue balls + 8 red balls = 10 balls
  • Making numbers in a variety of ways eg 2+2+2+3 =9 or 7+1+1=9.
  • Learning doubles eg 2+2, 3+3 etc.
  • Groups of/multiplication eg. how many groups of 2 make 10? How many groups of 3 go into 10...what's left over? 2 x 4 equals? Use a different coloured ball for each new group.
  • Basic colour matching eg. place 5 coloured balls along the top row and your child places 5 matching balls underneath to make the second row.

NumberDot

Side

NumberDots
